Koh Mak

Koh Mak is an Island just south of Koh Chang at the Eastern Seaboard in Thailand. To go to Koh mak you can take a bus from the Eastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok and travel to Trad. From Trad you can take a minivan to the Laem Ngob Pier from where the speed boat to Koh Mak leaves. There is also a Catamaran going between Koh Mak and the mainland, they go once a day.

Koh Mak is a quiet island with no nightlife, just beautiful beaches. The best way to see the Island is on motorbike or bicycle. There are not many cars on the Island, so driving a motorcycle is safe. There are a few beautiful Islands of the coast that can be reached by Kayak.

We stayed at the Koh Mak Resort which has its own private 2 kilometer long beach. Our bungalow was right on the beach, in the morning we had an amazing view of the Islands in front of us and the blue water.

There is an interesting temple on the Island called Wat Koh Mak. From the temple you have a great view of the bay in front. At the bay near the Catamaran ferry pier you can find the Koh Mak Museum, which is not very special.
